Equipment

  • Skillet or cast iron pan
  • Mixing bowl
  • Sharp knife
  • cutting board
  • Tongs or spatula

Ingredients

  • 1 pound steak cut into small cubes
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Green onions for garnish
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  • Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, garlic, and ginger in a bowl.
  • Add the steak cubes and coat well in the marinade.
  • Let the steak rest so the flavor can soak in.
  • Heat oil in a hot pan.
  • Lift the steak from the marinade and place in the pan.
  • Cook in a single layer until browned and sticky.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Garnish before serving.

Notes

Pat the steak dry before marinating for better browning.
Do not crowd the pan or the steak will steam.
Add the glaze near the end to keep it from burning.
Let the meat rest before serving so the juices stay inside.
