Ingredients

  • ½ pound ground beef or ground turkey or any leftover cooked meat
  • 1-2 tablespoons taco seasoning store-bought or homemade
  • ½ to 1 cup shredded Mexican cheese blend
  • 1 can Pillsbury Crescent Rolls or any similar dough
  • Optional toppings:
  • Sour cream
  • Salsa
  • Guacamole
  • Pico de gallo
  • Fresh cilantro
  • Lime wedges
  • Sliced jalapeños for a spicy kick

Instructions

  • Brown the Meat: In a skillet, heat over medium heat and cook ground meat until browned (5-7 minutes). If using leftover taco meat, heat it up in a pan.
  • Season the Meat: Stir taco seasoning into the cooked meat. If using homemade seasoning, combine:
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 1 ½ teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Add water if needed for moisture.
  • Prepare the Dough: Unroll the crescent rolls and separate the dough into squares (about 4 inches each). Pinch the perforated edges to seal the dough.
  • Assemble the Taco Bombs: Place ½ cup of taco meat and a generous amount of shredded cheese in the center of each dough square. Fold the corners of the dough toward the center and pinch tightly to seal.
  • Air Fry: Lightly grease the air fryer basket or line with parchment paper. Place taco bombs inside, making sure they’re not overcrowded. Air fry at 320°F (160°C) for 10-12 minutes or until the dough is golden and crispy.
  • Serve: Allow taco bombs to cool slightly, then serve with sour cream, salsa, guacamole, or your favorite taco toppings.

Notes

  • You can customize the filling with shrimp, chicken, pork, or a vegetarian version (black beans, corn, roasted veggies).
  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket for the crispiest results.
  • If you don’t have an air fryer, you can bake the taco bombs in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for 15-18 minutes.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2-3 days and reheat in the air fryer for best texture.
