Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1-2 tablespoons taco seasoning store-bought or homemade
  • 1/2 to 1 cup Mexican cheese blend shredded
  • 1 can Pillsbury crescent rolls 8 rolls
  • Optional toppings: Sour cream salsa, jalapeños, cilantro, guacamole

Instructions

  • Brown the Meat: Brown the ground beef or turkey in a skillet over medium heat. Drain any excess fat if necessary. Stir in taco seasoning and a splash of water. Let the mixture cool.
  • Prepare the Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 4 squares. Press the perforations to seal the dough.
  • Assemble the Taco Bombs: Place about 1/2 cup of the cooled taco meat mixture in the center of each dough square. Sprinkle with shredded Mexican cheese. Fold the dough corners toward the center, twisting to seal the taco bombs.
  • Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 320°F (160°C) for 5 minutes.
  • Cook the Taco Bombs: Place the taco bombs in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between them. Lightly grease with cooking spray. Air fry at 320°F for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Serve: Remove the taco bombs from the air fryer and serve with your favorite toppings such as sour cream, salsa, guacamole, or jalapeños.

Notes

  • Use Leftovers: These taco bombs are a great way to repurpose leftover taco meat. Just make sure to cool the meat before filling the dough.
  • Dough Variations: If you prefer, you can use biscuit dough instead of crescent rolls for a different texture.
  • Freezing: You can freeze assembled taco bombs before cooking. Freeze them on a baking sheet, then transfer to a freezer bag. When ready to cook, air fry directly from frozen, adding a couple of extra minutes to the cooking time.
